Arrival & Tuition
All hirers are required to view a video detailing safety matters and navigation techniques prior to a practical demonstration by one of our experienced instructors. Navigation charts, captain handbooks and general information are supplied to you on arrival to our marina.

Minimum age
No license is required to charter a cruiser, however Silver Line recommends that the group leader be at least 21 years of age.

Booking
One third of the hire fee is required as a booking deposit, please see our tariffs & conditions of hire for method of payment.

Mobile phones
We can supply mobile phones in order for you to contact our office 24 hrs a day.

Electricity
All our cruisers use a 12-volt DC system. We also supply a 220-volt shaving socket on all our cruisers, which can only be used for this purpose. All our cruisers are fitted with a 12 volt cigarette lighter sockets, these can be used to charge mobiles etc., all you need to bring along is the correct 12 volt adaptor which can be purchased at any electrical supplier. However some our cruisers now have invertors installed, which enables the use of laptops, playstations, hairdryers etc.

Fuel, gas & water
All our cruisers depart with a full tank of diesel, water and gas. Fuel used will be paid on completion of the hire period. Fuel consumption varies between 5,7 & 10 litres per hour depending on size and speed. Cruisers can be filled with water free of charge at marinas along the way as indicated on your charts.

Pets
Prior permission must be obtained from our office before pets will be allowed on our cruisers, as we have certain restrictions.

Locks
There are seven locks in total along the River Shannon which are operated by lock keepers who will help you through with no difficulty. There is a charge for passing through these locks of €1.50. The Shannon-Erne system has 16 locks and are operated by a smart card which can be purchased easily.

Bed Linen
We supply all our cruisers with towels and bed linen, we do suggest however that clients bring some extra towels for their convenience. All our cruisers have a fully equipped galley, with crockery, cutlery and all cooking utensils, cooker and hob, fridge, hot and cold water. For the safety of our clients we supply life jackets, fire extinguishers, first aid kit, binoculars, captain handbook, charts and an optional 13ft fibre glass dinghy.

Cassette/Radio - CD/Radio
Cassette or CD Radio are installed on our craft except the Silver River Class. See specification of cruisers for details

Fishing license
A coarse fishing license is required for fishing North of Banagher and can be purchased at our Marina.

Moorings
There are plenty of free mooring places along the Shannon and Erne Waterway, however in certain places along your cruise there will be mooring charges. All the major moorings have shower/toilet facilities, at which you can also use your hairdryer's, straightners etc. Mobile phones/camcorders etc can be recharged at the various IBRA company bases.

Transfers
We can organize transfers from all major Airports, please view our tariffs for details. Private transfers can also be arranged.

Car parking
Free and safe car parking is available at our marina, however parking is at owners risk.

Items to bring
We recommend that proper boating shoes or rubber soled gripped shoes are worn on board at all times. Bring waterproofs and don't forget sunglasses to protect against UV light reflected by the water. Suitcase and non-essential items can be stored at our marina.
